Here I Am, Your Bride

I wrote this poem on June 12, 2005.  It was inspired by Revelations 21:2, Habakkuk 3:19, Isaiah 54:5, 61:9-11, and Isaiah 62:13.

Sure-footed as a deer
Walking towards you
Behold! Your bride is near.
Heart rejoicing, mind in awe
Is this also what you saw?

Set apart, sanctified
That's what I am today
Dedicated, purified
Here I am, your bride

God's best gift, I hold within me
A heart after His own
A heart faithful and devoted
Today will also be your own

God's promises in my hand
Tied in one bouquet
I've come to share them with you
And fulfill them all today
